Article Writing – What You Need to Know?

As with everything in life there are rules or guidelines and the same can be said for article writing. It would be nice if you sit down and whip out an article, but thinking and planning is the backbone of a well written article.

The following is a basic map of things you need to think about before you start article writing:

* Determine the topic of your article.

* Determine the keyword(s) you want to use in your article and how many times you want them to be used.

* Determine what useful information needs to be included in the article.

* Have some idea about the length of article you want to write.

* Research and make sure your information is factual and/or accurate.

* Select a title. You need to create a title that incorporates what your article will be about but yet engaging enough to catch the eye of the busy reader. Use one of your keywords in the title.

* Use short paragraphs.

* Emphasize the benefits of your business or product.

* Make sure your article is understandable to the reader. You know exactly what you are talking about; make sure the reader does too. Do not use too many technical names; however, if technical names are required make sure a definition accompanies them.

* Include a resource box. This is where, you the author, tell about yourself, along with your company name, contact information, and some information that will encourage readers to visit your website. The resource box consists of six lines or less of text. I suggest you use a linkto a squeeze page.
